I laid a plastic grocery handbag with 2 loaves of staff of life in it on the stove not knowing it was recently turned off. I went to get more than groceries out of the automobile and came back to a very smokey kitchen and melted plastic all over the burner, the bread was too burnt. I had no thought how to clean it up.
The next day I constitute this site and I am still amazed and relieved how like shooting fish in a barrel it was to clean upwardly with alcohol and a razor blade from my utility knife! I am likewise relieved I am not the starting time person that made that mistake! I felt pretty stupid!

I had a plastic purse on the electric stove and I accidentally turned on the incorrect burner. At present, I have $.25 of melted plastic on one of the electric rings. I accept scrubbed and scrubbed and it won't come off. Delight help!

That has never happened to me, but if it did I would be tempted to take a straight-edged razor and carefully scrape away at the burnt-on plastic. I wonder if the remnants that are left could just exist burned off past running the burner for a while (with a ventilator fan on, of course).

That's a tough stain to become rid of, what I did, and it worked pretty well, was to get the burner hot every bit heck and use a full sized wire brush to clean the burner, I won't say that information technology will take all bone it out but it sure got rid of a lot of the stain.

I did the same thing and tried almost everything to become it off with out much luck. It accidently slid into a sink full of soapy water with the dishes. I didn't notice it until I was most finished. When I institute it, the plastic was gone. I put it back in the receptical, after letting it dry for a couple of days and information technology worked fine.
I wouldn't suggest dropping it in the sink, merely you could endeavour standing it up in a pan of hot soapy water and letting it sit until the water cools. Making certain y'all go along the element dry out. Information technology worked for me and it wouldn't injure to try information technology.

I take parts of a plastic cutting lath melted on mine. I scraped off as much as I could. I tried warming the burner with the overhead exhaust fan on. My fire alert's went off. I have scraped many times. Any other proffer would exist appreciated. I volition not apply that burner.
I practice not want to see the `fire dept' again. I'grand in a sm. apt.

May not be able to become one. You have to gild them online where I alive and I'one thousand on a upkeep anyway. $20 might as well be $100. If the OP is request how to remove it, I'd wager a guess that they have thought about a replacement already but are in the same boat.

Sounds similar a practiced programme to heat the stove burner then wipe with round with a damp rag. What my husband is going to do tomorrow is take the stove round outside and nail it with a blow torch to become the plastic melted and so wipe with a damp rag.
That way no worry about the toxic fumes. Enough fumes the first time effectually!

The accident torch used outside to the stove round worked like a amuse! No fuss, no muss! No toxic fumes. Only saying . . . .

I know this may sound awful, simply what I unremarkably practice is turn the burner back on and while it is hot I become a wet dish cloth or a metal meat turner to remove information technology very apace. Information technology smells bad only it works for me, good luck.

A plastic freezer pocketbook somehow got on a very hot burner of the smooth top stove and melted and burned. I tore away as much equally I could, but still have lumps and streaks of the plastic on the top. I'm afraid to try to scrape it off lest I scratch the top.
